In September, Awanui is once again proud to be hosting Co:Lab, New Zealand’s laboratory and pathology sector forum which brings together leaders and experts from across the sector.
The theme for this year’s forum is ‘Creating the Future’ and how advancements in technology, artificial intelligence, genomics, and personalised medicine are driving changes in our labs and improving diagnostics and patient outcomes.
“This is the first year we have hosted Co:Lab as Awanui, and it is an opportunity to showcase our new name and brand across the health and laboratory sectors,” says Trevor English, Head of Strategic Business Development.
“Co:Lab is now established as a leading forum for bringing pathology and laboratory leaders and experts from the public and private health sectors together, and once again, the talent and calibre of our speakers is first-class.”
This year’s speakers include Te Whatu Ora Chair Dame Dr Karen Poutasi, Digital Health Association Chair and Deloitte Health Partner Kate Reid, Professor of Epidemiology Rod Jackson and Te Whatu Ora Chief Data and Digital Officer Leigh Donoghue to name a few.
“Co:Lab is always a mix of discussing current issues with new ideas on how labs operate, what skills and expertise we need, and how we can work differently to deliver services for communities and the health system,” says Trevor.
“Through having these discussions and sharing our thinking, Co:Lab is a platform for looking at new innovations to enhance laboratory testing, engage and interact with patients, and have opportunities to hear different perspectives on shaping the lab industry of tomorrow.
“Co:Lab is made possible with the support of our speakers, attendees and sponsors, and Awanui says thank you for supporting this year’s event and making it happen.”
Co:Lab 2023 is being held at Wellington’s Harbourside Function Centre, 4 Taranaki Street, from 20 –21 September.
